The Ideal Rabbit Routine
A simple, consistently built foundation.
No rigid rules, just an understanding of what your rabbit truly needs, every day.
A simple, consistently built foundation.
No rigid rules, just an understanding of what your rabbit truly needs, every day.
WHY A ROUTINE
A clear routine
changes everything.
The rabbit's digestive system relies on
a regular and consistent intake of fiber.
It does not easily compensate for mistakes;
not because it is fragile, but because its natural functioning is precise.
Implementing a simple and stable routine
is giving it what it needs to thrive every day.
THE FOUNDATION OF EVERYTHING
Hay, always
first.
Hay is the absolute and irreplaceable foundation
of a rabbit's diet. It should always be available in large quantities, and refreshed regularly to remain fresh and appealing.
Its long fibers maintain regular digestion,
promote well-formed stools, and support natural intestinal activity.
It also plays an essential role in
wearing down teeth, which grow continuously
throughout a rabbit's life.
A rabbit that eats a lot of hay is usually a rabbit with a well-balanced diet.
Everything else complements the hay.
Never replaces it.
STRUCTURED INPUT
The botanical blend, thoughtfully diverse.
Our botanical blends enhance your routine by providing what hay alone cannot: a structured and coherent botanical diversity.
Unlike conventional blends often assembled without a precise logic, each Bunny Cocoon blend is based on the Botanical Trinity:
3 plants selected together,
each with a defined role.
A functional plant
A balanced plant
An appealing plant
It can be easily integrated into daily life, on its own or combined with other essential blends and plants to build a more comprehensive routine.
A small handful sized for your rabbit, in addition to hay, once or twice a day.
TARGETED ADJUSTMENT
Essential plants to refine your routine.
Where a botanical blend provides structure, the essential plant refines.
Chosen alone, it provides a more targeted response depending on your rabbit's profile and current needs: enriching fiber intake, supporting palatability, complementing the routine without unbalancing it.
It can be integrated into the blend or offered in small quantities throughout the day, as a moment of sensory discovery.
In small quantities, introduced gradually
according to your rabbit's needs.
A FUNDAMENTAL NEED
Chewing: More Than Just Eating.
Gnawing is a deep behavioral need for rabbits, independent of hunger. It's not a whim; it's ingrained in their nature as a rodent.
Wood and roots meet this need in a healthy and appropriate way. They contribute to natural dental wear, stimulate mental activity, and enrich their daily environment.
Offer regularly, outside of mealtimes.
FRESH GREENS
A welcome addition, gently introduced.
Fresh greens provide moisture,
variety and a pleasant sensory dimension.
They complement the routine, without ever replacing hay or the dry botanical base.
A gradual introduction, in small
quantities, allows the digestive system
to adapt smoothly.
Approximately 10% of the rabbit's weight per day.
Up to 200 g for a 2 kg rabbit.
Introduce gradually.
PELLETS
One option, in
certain contexts.
Pellets are not essential
if the routine is already well structured around hay and botanical plants.
They can have their place in certain
specific situations: growth,
transition, particular needs identified
with the help of a veterinarian.
In this case, choose grain-free pellets, in appropriate quantities, so that they do not compete with hay consumption.
ADAPT WITH PRECISION
Each rabbit is unique, the structure remains the same.
Age, activity, food sensitivities – each rabbit has its specific needs, and its routine can be adapted accordingly.
The goal is not to constantly change everything, but to maintain a stable and consistent base, precisely adjusted according to the needs of the moment.
A strong foundation.
Consistent supplements.
Regularity over time.
This stability allows us to respect
the rabbit's natural behavior and maintain a truly consistent diet day after day.
No complexity. Just accuracy.
